Ready for the next Major Project showcase? Ready for a live performance of stilt wearing, drum beating, carnival celebrating artists? Well, consider yourself in the right place. This group of final year students collaborated with the unique drumming group, Global Grooves, to create a live performance like no other. 

Hosted in Studio 006, formally known as Soundbox Studio [totally fitting for this performance], the audience was positioned at front of house to take in the performance. Immediately, the complex but perfectly orchestrated combination of production elements was clear, whether this was in lighting design, sound engineering, visual content, or camera operation.

The students chose to collaborate and showcase the awesome work of Global Grooves, an artist-Led Carnival arts organisation who bring inspirational carnival practice from around the world into communities across the UK. Safe to say, they’re a pretty incredible bunch with a boat load of creativity, passion and energy!

With each beat of the drum came an expertly choreographed flash of colour, beam of light or digital design that danced across the various panels of LED backdrop. The creative flair of the carnival troupe brought an incredible energy to the performance. With their bright neon lights that trimmed the space-like costumes, the students programmed every single beat to give the audience a spectacular audio and visual experience. 

The event was upliftingly infectious that truly celebrated the power of the liveness of music, performance, and creativity.
